Plantain Pie


Plantains are rich in potassium, magnesium, iron, and vitamin B6, helping to prevent muscle spasms. Playing a protective role for stomach lining, they’re also ideal for those who have heart conditions and require high potassium and low sodium.


  • 1 package of Maria Cookies.
  • 1/2 cup of chopped pecans.
  • 3 tablespoons of sugar.
  • 1/2 cup of Nutrioli® oil.

For the filling:

  • 1 cup of medium cream.
  • 1 cup of cream beat into whipped cream.
  • 360 g (12.7 oz) of cream cheese.
  • 1/3 cup of sugar.
  • 1 packet of Jell-O.
  • 4 plantains.
  • 1/2 cup of pecans.

  1. Crush the cookies and mix them with the pecans, sugar, and Nutrioli® oil.
  2. Spread the mix into a baking pan and bake for 10 minutes.

For the filling:

  1. Freeze the medium cream for an hour and blend with the whipped cream.
  2. Incorporate the cream cheese and sugar.
  3. Dilute the Jell-O in a 1/4 cup of water and add to the mix.
  4. Slice the plantains and layer into the pie along with the pecans.
  5. Pour the cheese mix in and add another layer of plantains and pecans on top.
  6. Refrigerate until time to serve.
