Red Velvet Cake


This delicious cake will fill you with energy! Did you know that cocoa not only adds flavor, but also supplies calcium, magnesium, phosphorus and potassium, along with natural antioxidants?


  • ½ lb. flour
  • 1⅔ cups sugar
  • 3 oz. cocoa powder
  • 1 TBSP baking powder
  • ⅔ cup milk
  • 7 eggs
  • 7 fl. oz. Nutrioli®
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp red food coloring (vegetable-based)
    For icing:
  • 7 oz. cream cheese
  • ¼ cup butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (sifted)

  1. Using an electric mixer, beat eggs, sugar and vanilla until eggs are clear and spongy. Add Nutrioli® in a gradual stream, beating continuously.
  2. Combine flour, cocoa powder and baking powder and add to mixture, alternating with milk. Add red food coloring until achieving desired shade. Once ingredients are blended, pour into a greased and floured cake pan.
  3. Preheat oven to 350 °F. Bake for 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  4. To make icing, beat cheese and butter together in electric mixer, adding vanilla and sugar little by little. Beat until smooth.
  5. After removing cake from oven, let cool completely. Spread frosting on cake. Some of it may be combined with food coloring and used to decorate edges. Decorate as desired with fondant flowers or natural flowers.
