Tomatoes provide vitamin C, B vitamins, and minerals such as potassium, iron, phosphorous, and magnesium. They are also rich in lycopene, which is an antioxidant and considered to be anticancerous.
- Combine Nutrioli® oil and garlic. Generously glaze the baguette slices with this mix and place on a baking pan with wax paper.
- Bake at 200°C (392°F) for 10 minutes or until the bread is golden. Let cool.
- Place the tomato, basil, salt, and pepper in a container and mix.
- Lastly, cover the baguette slices with the tomato mix and serve.
In order to prevent the bread from falling apart, cut with a serrated knife. You can also cover the bruschetta with serrano ham, parmesan cheese, or mozzarella, and accompany with a salad.
