Ham and Cheese Pie


The combination of ham, cheese, and peppers make this pie delicious. Moreover, the peppers provide antioxidants, especially vitamins A and C. This plate is also energy-rich. Enjoy!


For the tartlet:

  • 2 cups of flour.
  • 1 pinch of salt.
  • 1/2 cup of Nutrioli® oil.
  • 1/4 cup of milk.

For the filling

  • 3 eggs.
  • 1/2 kilo (1 lb) of turkey ham cut into squares.
  • 150 g (5 oz) of American cheese.
  • 1/4 liter (1 cup) of light cream.
  • 3 tablespoons of canned red pepper.
  • 3 tablespoons of chopped green pepper.
  • 1 small can of peas.

For the tartlet:

  1. Place the flour in a mixing bowl, add the salt and Nutrioli® oil, and mix carefully with a fork. If necessary, add milk. Gather the dough and let sit in the refrigerator for a moment.

For the filling:

  1. Beat the eggs whites until stiff peaks form, add the yolks, and beat again. Incorporate the rest of the ingredients by folding them in with a spatula.
  2. Divide the tartlet dough into two portions and stretch them out into circles, the first a little bit larger than the second. Place the larger circle in a pie mold, place the filling inside, and cover with the other part of the tartlet dough. Using a fork or knife make small incisions in order to let the steam out. You can glaze the top with a beaten yolk or a little bit of milk so that it turns golden. Bake in the oven at 180°C (356°F) for 30 to 35 minutes.
