Sweet and Sour Shrimp

Besides being delicious, shrimp contains essential omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids and is an excellent source of minerals, including iodine, calcium and phosphorus.

Ingredients

  • 24 medium shrimp
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • Salt and pepper
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1½ cups Nutrioli®

For sauce:

  • 1 cup shrimp bouillon
  • ½ cup white vinegar
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • ¼ cup sugar

Directions

  1. Peel shrimp, leaving tails on, and butterfly cut. Rinse and drain. Season with salt and pepper and dredge in flour. Immerse in egg and coat with breadcrumbs.
  2. Heat Nutrioli® and fry shrimp until golden-brown. Remove from skillet and immediately place on paper towels to absorb excess oil.

For sauce:

  1. Combine all ingredients in a bowl. Pour into skillet and cook over low heat until sauce thickens slightly. Serve shrimp with sauce.
